About Matt

Photography isn't just my passion, it's life.

Based in Bright, Victoria, I previously spent three years exploring the beauty of Tasmania.

I've photographed a bit of everything over the years. I started in commercial photography for organisations such as the Queensland Government and the Royal Childrens Hospital Foundation. By night I was documenting some of the world's biggest musicians such as Metallica, Pearl Jam, TOOL, Nick Cave, Joan Jett and hundreds more.

I have also photographed sports for Brisbane Roar and my own project documenting Muay Thai fighters called 8 Limbs (because Muay Thai fighters use two feet, two hands, two knees and two elbows to fight) which led to being awarded AIPP Australian Sports Photographer of the Year.

I then ran my own domestic photography documenting weddings and portraits before my move South from Brisbane.

My passion for photography also involves me in the community as having served on AIPP State Councils and a presenter at numerous conferences and clubs. In 2016 I was made a Master of Photography by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. I also produce pro bono work for Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary in Tasmania who do an amazing job in assisting Tasmanian wildlife through their rescue, educational and medical services.

If you have a passion for photography and would like to develop your skills through a tailored workshop or even a personal tour I'd love to hear from you.

Over the years I've won a few awards and have featured in some exhibitions. You can see a little of that below.
